About Us

Whether you are contemplating a few days away from Adelaide or you have travelled thousands of kilometres from places around the world, you will be warmly welcomed as our guests at Fernweh Guesthouse.

Fernweh Guesthouse (formerly known as Virginia House) is ideally located right in the heart of Tanunda at 20 Elizabeth Street. We look forward to welcoming you to our hosted Guesthouse.

The word Fernweh - pronounced Fern-way, is a German word which means the love of travel to far away places. We selected Fernweh as a name to highlight our love of travel, but also this acknowledges our guests love of travel to places around the world, including the beautiful Barossa Valley.

We look forward to meeting you soon.

God's blessing to you as you travel,

Christine and Greg Lees

Fernweh (we pronounce as fern-way) is a German word which describes the yearning for foreign lands, the desire to travel.

For us and possibly for yourself, the desire to travel has resulted in amazing lifelong memories of distant places.

It is our hope that as you visit the Barossa Valley it will be a most enjoyable and memorable experience for you.
